The Ploughing -Bee 'in connection with , the Cambridge Farmers' Club and Cavalry came off to-day. Some of the teams were on the ground at 7.30 a.m., and the work commenced at 8 a.m. The following are those who sent teams .-—John Fisher* one doubleTfurrow plough ; Captain Runcitnan, do. do.; Fantham, do. do. } Forest, I single plough j R. Reynolds, do* ; W, Reynolds, do. ; J. Taylor, do. ;W. Selby, do. ; W. K. Carter, do. ; Fitzpatrick, do. j H. Hicks, do. j F. Hioks, do. }E. Allen, do. 1 ; E. Beer, do. ; Tucker, do. ; E. B. Walker,; 1 .double-furrow plough; Cricket, 1 single i do. j ' OBrien, do. ; Hi Fergusson; do. ; W, & S.i Graham, , 1 double r furrow plough*: J. and, W. Martyn, .do. ; R. , Reynolds, ' 1 sety 4 horse- harrows ; Howie, net of, harrows. , The following are the names of those who provided spades :— Major Hay, <P. Thomson, G. Watt, W. Macfarlane, Calvert, Trogam, Kirkwobd, E. Walker, and Colonel Lyon, also sent twenty men of _ the A.C., who rendered great assistance. Refreshments were provided by the tradesmen and others. The Cambridge Band was on the ground and played some spirited airs at intervals. During the afternoon there was a large number of visitors on the ground. The land is somewhat broken, but the quality of work is very good. The last furrow was turned over about 5 o'clock, when three ringing cheers were given.
