TAMAHERE ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting' of the Board was held at the residence of Mr P. Leslie on Tuesday. Present— Mosrs H. Reynolds (Chairman), Leslie, C. C. Wood, Wheeler, and Captain Ruiicimnn. It was 1 evolved to ask the Cambridge Di->tiiot Road Board to form the road j from the southern boundary of Kwen's farm, and also that mi '-way between Mac-lean and Co.'s two jilted. Mr Breakell, Engineer to the Board, attended, aud laid on tho table alternate plans of the proposed alteration to Ciawford'a Gully cutting' — one showing a grade of one in nine, and the other one ia ten. The Engineer recommended that tho grade for the first five chains from the bridge be one in nine, and the rest of the cutting- one in ten. This suggestion was agreed to, and the Clerk instructed to invite teuders for the job forthwith, the same to be in by ne.\t Wednesday week. Plans of the proposed cutting leading to, aud the bridge over the Mangaonua Creek connecting with tho HamiltonPiako Road at Hinton's Gully, were also submitted, aud the Board resolved to adopt same, making the grade of the cutting one in eight, with a bridge GO feet iv length. Tenders were also ordered to be invited for this work. The necessity for at once proceeding with the works on what is known as the Central Road, being that leading from the Narrows Road to the PUko, wjw considered, aud it was resolved to call for tenders for deepening the drains and doing other work, pavtioulaivj of which, -will bo duly advertised. It having been resolved to write to tho Railway Manager complaining of the unsatisfactory nature of the present timetable, the Board rose.
