Two Children Burnt to Death. Christchurch Last Night.

At 6 o'clock last evening a cottage, occupied by a person named Wind* aor, was totally destroyed by fire, and two < hildren 8 years and 6 years old were burnt to death. Mrs Windsor went out to get some milk, leaving the children in the house, with front and back door closed. Soon afterwards the kitchen was discovered to be on fire. Several neighbouis endeavored to enter the building, but were driven back by the flames. Tne children must have been suffocated by the smoke, no cries being heard. Their remains were dreadfully disfigured, and were found near the bed in another room. The mother became insensible upon hearind their sad fate.
