THE ROTORUA ROAD.
It will be good news to hear that the (iovcrnment intend pushing on the work with vigour during the approach mg 111 er. Before the lap^e of another year the journey to the beautiful lake counti y of New Zealand, will bo a matter involving little or no inconvenience being easily accomplished, sitting on the cushions ot a buggy instead of on the hard suldlo of a jolting nasr. The tourists route will then undoubtedly be via "Waikato, and while their comfort Avill thus be embraced visitors from foreign lands will have afforded them opportunities of viewing not only the wonders and marvels of the enchanting and mystic lake district, but also the most practical but scarcely less varied charms of our own district. That such will come to p'lss* seems probable when we hear that tenders will in a few days be invited for the formation of the road in the open country and for the construction through about 14 miles of bush. The specifications have been prepared and the delay even of a few days arises through the want of .some trifling though necessary information.
