Waikato Times Office, Friday Evening. auctioneers' reports.

Auckland Cattle Mabket. —Mr Alfred Buckland's weekly report; At the Haymarket on Friday, 27th August, fodder was abundant, and all but that of choice quality at lowar values; the greater part from 2s to 2s 66\ Two choice parcels only of oaten and red clover hay brought 5s 3d the cwt. Horse stock were offoredin limited number, but were in good demand. Heavy draught, £40 and. £45 ; riding horses, £14 to Ll6; active harness, Ll7 10s to L 32 ; but young unbroken stock were not in much request At the hides and skin sale on Tuesday hides maintained their values, and skins showed * slight improvement, and brought from 3s 3d to os Id each; wool in grease, BJd the lb. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows were in better enquiry than for several weeks. All near calving were in improved demand. Best animals brought from LlO to Ll2 caeh.. Store cattle were in limited number, bnt better enquiry, particularly yonug cattle. Fat cattle were in average numbor. 150 head sold They were in steady demand throughout tha sale, at adv«nce over last weoks prices and brought from 32s to 36s the lOOlbs. Sheep were plentiful. Between 900 and 1000 sold at preces steadily ranging from 3£d to 4d per lb. Pigs were numerous, principally stores, and in brisk enquiey, at full prices. Messrs. Hxtnter & Nolans weekly report: —Horses: There has been an improvement in the horse market. At the Durham Yards, on Friday, about the usual nnmber of horses were entered for sale by auction, and with few exceptions all in were disposed of at an advance on last weeks quotations. Cattle There has been unusual vitality in the market, and, a very large number have changed hands, parti culay stores, which realised high values. The cattle f»ir at Papakura, on Monday, was a great success, both as to the numbers

yarded and, attendance o| j^nyers, Qre thousand head having changed hands *t this market during t)i3wee£j- At -Newmarket, on Tuesday there wad an increased number of stores ofiered, and" dairy cows were better represented. Sheep. — Bidding was brisk, and prices ware at least 2s per head higherjthan last week. We quota, fat wethers from 18s to 26s 6d ; mixed sexes, from 12s (id to 17 6d. Pigs were yarded in large numbers, and prices ruled about 3d per Tb live weight.
