Riots in Ireland.— Discovery of a Plot to Blow up Cork Barracks. - v London, August 28. Serious riots in Ireland and petty robberies of arms attract attention in Ireland. There is intense ex#ement owing to the discovery of s/plofto blowup Cork barracks, where a large body of police were concentrated,- in consequence of the disturbed state Of the country. A tunnel had been constructed to the magazine, and a large chamber opened, and a fuse fixed to several barrels of gunpowder ready forlighting. A league numbering 300,000 Irish tenants have resolved to resist payment of back rent. Earl Eldon's residence has been robbed of £20,000 worth of plate and jewelry.
Incendiary Fire in St. Petersburg. London, August 28. A fire in St. Petersburg destroyed 20 principal buildings. Incendiarism is suspected.
