IN THE LOBBIES. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] Wellington, Last Night, 11.35 p.m. CAMBRIDGE RAILWAY.
Last night the land fund went by the board, and 20 per cent, became colonial property. Thus was fulfilled the dearest political wish, of many Northern members. Only the casting vote of the Chairman saved it on the first division, but on the motion for re-commital to recansider the destroying clause, the votes were 41 to 30. The Hamilton-Cambridge Railway Bill comes on to-night. I hear that Grey and Speight are going to stonewall it. I hope it is not true. The House will sit nearly all night to finish the business, as the prorogation will take place on Tuesday next.
