TO THE EDITOB. Si*B> — Remarking by advertisement that an election of three Hamilton Borough Councillors takes place on the 9th proximo, as one of the ratepayers who takes an interest in the welfare of the Borough, I "consider it is high time the burgesses shook off their apparent indifference and endeavored to get in three men who represent property at all events; for I am sure we have had sufficient of tho3e who compose the Council at present. The Borough, in their hands, is £1200 in debt at least, and, with little jobs here^and there for Councillors otra benefit, if they can get the overdraft they will, most assuredly, get them done, leaving the owners of property to 'pay, as it will not touch their pockets. I hear that our "Moighty Foine Poteen" is doing his utmost to get in again, but I should say Hamilton has had a surfeit of him and his clique. Hoping that a meeting of the burgesses may be called and three gentlemen selected to stand who have the confidence and will receive the support of the burgesses.— l am, &c, Pko Bono Publics.
