NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN,-That the RATES for the year commencing ist April, 1880, arc NOW DUE, and payable to the Collector on demand, or, in default, at the Borough Council Offices, Victoria-street, Hamilton. THOROUGH OF HAMILTON. Annual Election of Councillors. Pursuant to the provisions of " Thp Municipal Corporations and Regulation of Local Elections Acts, 1876, and the Amendments thereof, I hereby rive notice that an election for three duly qualified persons, as Councillors for the above Borough, will take place on THURSDAY, oth September next, at the Council Chambers, Vic-toria-street, Hamilton. Candidates will be required to be nominated on or before the 30th instant, and nomination papers must be delivered to the undersigned, at the above mentioned place. Nomination papers may be obtained at the Town Clerk's Office. J. M. GELLINGj Deputy Returning Officer. Hamilton, 21st August, 1880.

Printing Electoral Rolls. HHENDERS will be received at my X office, at Hamilton, until Noon on SATURDAY, the 28th day of AUGUST, 1880, for PRINTING the ELECTORAL ROLLS for the Districts of Waikato and Waipa. They must be addressed to the Registrar of Electors for the Districts of Waikato and Waipa, and marked outside " Tender for Printing Electoral Rolls." CONDITIONS : 1. The number of copies to be printed is two hundred and fifty. 2. The paper, type, and size of pages to be according to sample, to be seen at Mr Edward Wayte's, 100 Queen-street, Auckland. 3. The tender to state the rate per page, which must cover all expenses of composition, presswork, paper, folding, and stitching, and alterations and corrections in proofs. Blank pages not to be charged for. 4. Proofs and revises to be furnished in duplicate to the Registrar of Electors, who will return the same to the printers within two days after being received. 5. Should the printing of the Rolls not be completed before the 25th day of September, 1880, the contractor shall forfeit the sum of 10s for every day beyond that date during which the work shall remain unfinished. 6. Security to be approved by the Registrar of Electors, to be given for the due performance of the contract. 7. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Waitoa Highway District. IT is hereby notified that the Waitoa Highway District Board intend to meet in the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Piako, on the 21st day of August, 1880, at 11.30 a.m., for the purpose of making a Hate of Ninepence in the Pound, for tte period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1880, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1881, payable in one sum on the Ist day of September, 1880. The Rate-book is open for inspection at the residence of Alexander Bremner, who is appointed Collector to the Board ; and the said Rate is to be paid to him at his residence on the said Ist day of September, 1880. "\] OTICE is hereby given,— That the JLI Board intend, on TUESDAY, the 31st AUGUST, to STRIKE a RATE of 9d in the £ on the ANNUAL VALUE up to the 31st March, 1881, which rate will be payable to Mr William C. Ricketts, the Collector, at Ngaruawahia, on the 24th day of September, 1880.
