AMERICAN INPERIALISM.
The inhabitants of the United States nre being prepared for au Imperial form of Government, and some satirist has published a pamphlet, called "The Coming Crown "in which we arc treated to a paragraph which we may expect to read in the Court News of the Imperial Stand' ard a year or two hence. The paragraph runs: — "His Majesty the Emperor Ulysses 1., accompanied by the Empress the Crown Prince Frederick, and a numerous suite, returned to Washington Palace yesterday, after spending a week with the Duke of Pensylvania at his princely seat near Harrisburg. We are happy to be able to state that his Imperial Majesty is in excellent health. The Imperial escort was composed of a battalion of Guards pnd of two troops of Household Cavalry. Her Royal Highness the Princess Nellie will not return to England, end we are in a position to state that her husband, Algernon Sarloris, Esq., will be raised to the peerage with the title of Earl of Gran*, ton. We are also able to announce that the Earl of Granton will be appointed Lord-Lieutenant of the province of Illinois, and that the Imperial Government intends to give him an allowance of 2)0,009 dollars. A viceregal palace will be built at Ppringfield, the Privy Council having ordered that Chicago, the capital of the late State of liliniois, is to be razed to the ground. Lord Sharon, Earl of Nevada, is expected at the palace on the sth inst , his Lordship having brought to a successful issue the negotiations which have induced California to accept the proposals of the Impei ial Government. In consideration of the eminent diplomatic services of his Lord&hip in thus extirpating the last vestiges ©f Republicanism in the Western portion of the Empire, we have reason to believe that his Imperial Majesty proposes to confer upon him the Order of the Ironclad Hand. We have much pleasure in announcing the arrival at the Palace of Lord Simon Cameron, Earl of Susqueehanna. The venerable Count and his son, the noble Duke of Pennsylvania, will have the honour of dining at the Imperial table to-morrow." There is a slight confusion of titles in this last sentence, but the intention is good.
