The debate continued. Mr Barren condemned the report of Mr Conyer's on the Otago central line. Mr Macandrew also strongly condemned the report on Otago central line, and Mr Johnston that on the Wellington -Foxton line. He thought the Minister for Public Works was treating this district unfaiily,. and that sufficient information regarding the past and contemplated future expenditure of loan was not given. Mr Saunders defended the Railway Commission, and thought their report better worth attention than the report of any Select Committee. Mr Luudon thought the report an honest and truthful one.
