FOOTBALL.

To-day, weather permitting, the annual contest at football between the Auckland and "Waikato representative teams will be played on Sydney Square. Should the weather, however, continue as it is, it is very likely that the game will have to be played in Jolly's paddocks, as the Square will not be fit to play on. The teams will dine together at Pearce's Commeicial Hotel, at 5.30 p.m., and will afterwards attend the performance to be given by the Comus Dramatic Club at the Oddfellows' Hall, to which 4ie Auckland men have been invited as guests. The Auckland team arrived last night by train. Their names are — Bindon, Jsiggs, Bravewater, Burgess, Carter, Cooke. Davy, Orchard, Ryan, Sibbin, Stewart, Simms, Webstrr, White; emergencies — McCormick and Pou.
