WAIKATO TURF CLUB. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,— Upon the occasion of the last annual meeting of the above Club, the meeting was advertised in the local paper, and some members excused themselves from attending on the ground that they had not seen the paper. For the present meeting circulars were printed and forwarded to each member of the Club who had paid Ins subscription for the last two yeara. The gentleman who addressed you on the above subject is evidently a hole and corner man, or not a member of the Club, or he would have taken the straightforward course of putting his signature at the bottom of his effusion, or asked the Secretary, by letter, for an explanation. If the worthy member or any of his friends are ambitious of obtaining the secretaryship of the Club should they attend the adjourned meeting on the 18th of next month, they will find no obstacles placed in the way by subscriber. — Yours, &c, Kexxedy Hill, Hon. Secretary and Treasurer Waikato Turf Club.
