In the Legislative Assembly, the members sat all night and still continue. Probably they will not rise till noon tomorrow, owing to the opposition and stonewalling on the mail contract for a direct service between England and Queensland via Torres Straits, which had been ai'ranged for by the Premier whilst in London.
The son and heh 1 of the excellent Theobaxt is dead setat 7 weeks. Vast sums were lavished on him during his brief life. He was rocked in a cradle, encrusted with precious stones of enormous value, and the long clothes, napkins, &c, which enshrined his dusky figure cost .5,000 rupees.
