THE PAKURANGA HOUNDS. Meet at Kirikiriroa.

The hound", under the charge of Mr J. S. Buckland and Mr Roberts, huntsman, met at (4 Wynne's Hotel at 11 o'clock yesterday morning, and pioceeded to Ivirikiriroa. They were followed by about forty equestrians, amongst whom were a few ladies, the majority of the mounts being much above the average. The throw-off took place in a paddock of Mi Primrose's, where a hare was soon found, but after a short run puss ran across a creek and into the swamp, and the chase ended. The jumping was very line, although attended by numerous spills. In attempting a fence in Peacocke's old place, Mv Gooch camo to grief, his hort>c f. tiling into the ditch, and injuring itself so that it had to be taken back to H imilton. The injury was afterwards found to be in the muscles of the left shoulder, aud is fortunately not of a very serious character. After this, the hounds had another short run on the farm of Mr Chitty, but the hare again got away into the swamp. A return was then made to Hamilton, the only casualty of note being that reconled above. On Saturday the meet will be at H« ii \\ittV> Hotel, Cambridge; ; on Monday, at the crobs-roadss, Te Aw-'Mnntu ; and on Wednesday, at Te Awamutu — all at 11 a.m. In consequence of the hounds having to leave Waikato on Friday, the tith August, the contemplated hunt at Hautapu will be postponed for the present.
