Mond.it (Before 11. W. Northcroft, Es,<i., E.M.). Peter Rice m:is summoued, at the instance of the Railway Manager, for getting 1 into a train at Frankton while in motion. Defendant pleaded guilty, stating", in extenuation of the offence, that very urgent business required his pivoence at another place, and that missing the train would have caused great loss to him. Cautioned, and 15s co*ts. John Smith, guard, who .appeared on behalf of t) c railway authorities, applied for his expenses, but was refused, ho being in the pay of (government. Emil Siromelbag and Deborah Hood, hotelkeepers, were summoned by the police for supplying spiiituous liquors to persons other than travellers on Sunday, the 11th instant. It appears that a row took place in Mrs Hood'a bads

Judgment deferred. Deboiah Hood, Delta, Hotel, pleaded not guilty. Mr O'Neil appeared for the defendant, and Sergeant vSaunderson conducted the prosecution. Two witnesses testified to having been served with liqm.rs at the Delta Hotel on the date referred to ; one of whom stated that although aober at the time lie was intoxicated afterwards. Mr O'Neill applied for a dismissal, on the grounds that the necpssary gazettes had not been put in evidence. Judgment deferred to next CourJ. day, and another information ordered owing to fresh evidence cropping 1 up duiiug the hearing of the case.
