Skins were also better worth, and ranged from 4s id to 4s 8d each ; wool, 7?d the lb. At Drury. on Wednesday, the inclement weather prevented the usual muster of stock. Those brought ior..ward were mostly cows, for which there was a fair inquiry, and the greater number sold. At Remuera, on Thursday, there were no store cattle, and but few dairy cows. Fat cattle were m full number ; 150 head yarded. Prices were lower than last, \\ eck is to 2s the loolbs., the greater fall; b^ing- in the inferior quality, aijd ranged front 26s ko 30s the ioolbs. Sliecjp weje in usual number, of good quality, and in steady inquiry at 3^d the lb. Pigs numerous. Store pigs . in good inquiry, but f.it pigs were at much lower values. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report. — Horses— Activity has characterised the market. Prices have been sustained, and an average number have changed hands. On Friday quite the usual number were entered for disposal by auc,tion at the Durham Yards. The demand was spirited, and nearly all entered were disposed of, and there remains an unsatisfied demand for good upstanding 1 young geldings, for coaching purposes. We quote : Hacks, from £4 5s to £17 10s; good spring-cart horses, to £30; medium draught, £2s, to £32 10s. At the hide and skin sale, on Tuesday, there was' a good supply, and prices ruled considerably higher than at last sale. Hides from 3jd to |d per lb. ; calfskins, 3^d per lb' ; skins from 3s to 4s 2d. Cattle — The market has continued stirring, and prices have been sustained. On Tuesday there was a fair muster at Npwmarket. For prime beef bidding was keen, but for beasts not properly up in condition prices were a shade '.lower, but other descriptions did not recede, and there remained an unsatisfied inquiry for good dairy cows at their profit. We quote: Beef, 28s to 31s; dairy cows, £8 7s 6d to £u ss; weaned calves, £2 to £2 15s; dry cows, £3 15s to £5 10s. Sheep — The supply has been large, ana for those qf food description prices were sustained. On uesday a very large number were entered for sale by auction. Kidding was brisk, and an advance on last week's quotations was obtained. A draft of ewes, in- lamb, from Paparata, brought from lis to 16s 3d ; best fat wethers from tjs gd to 21s 6d. Pigs were in limited number, and sold it extreme rates.
Potatoes: Local, £3 to £3 5s per ton;.' Canterbury, L 3 ios to L 4, bags included.
Kerosene from is lod to 2s, ordinary brands, and 3s duty paid, the latter in 1 gallon tins. "Woolpacks in quantity, 3s 3d to 3s 6d each ; Corns.icks, 8s to gs 6d per do/en. Fen< ing wire, Nos, 6, 7, and 8, assorted, Ll6 to £ij per ton.
