T?he natives are becoming more troublesome and defiant, erecting fences across the roads. A body of Maoris under Te Whiti's fighting chief told Colonel Roberts they would cut the telegraph wires if he knocked down the fences again. Colonel Roberts has telegraphed to the Government for instructions.
