Two Children Wounded.
After incessant firing upon the Hotel,
a long and tedious interval followed, during which time Mr Stamatreet, the stationtnaster, suddenly left the hotel, where he had been kept a prisoner with the other residents of G-lenrowan, aud walked boldly away, narrowly escaping being shot by the police, but saved himself by proclaiming who he was. Ho reported that the gang were still in the house, and that the shots by the police had struck the daughter of Mr Jones, a girl of 14 yeara of ages in the head, whilst her brother was also wounded. , One by one the inmates shortly afterwards made their escape. Amongst those who esoaped was a poor woman who carried a baby only a few months old in her arms, and reached the station in safety, where she received every kindness. •
