COLONIAL NEWS. Revenue Returns. Sydney, July 3.
The New South Wales revenue returns for the last year, published to-day, show the revenue has been £1,176,000—an increase of £11,000 compared with last. The balance at the credit of the consolidated revenue on the 30lh of June waa £204,501. Brisbane, July 3.
The Queensland revenue returns to 30th June have been published. They show the revenue of last quarter as £400,000, an increase of £58,000 compared with the Juue quarter, 1879. The total revenue for the year 1879-80 was £1,482,000 against £1,461,000 in 1878-79. The expenditure for the June quarter was £535,000, an increase of £1-5,000 compared with the last year. The total expenditure for the year was £1,673,000, against £1,678,000 iv 1878-79 The total deficit on 30th June, 1879, was £177,000, but it now stands at £239,000.
Adelaide, July 3. The South Australian revenue returns, published to-day, show that the revenue for last quarter amounted to £547,000, being an increase of £146,000 compared with last year.
Melbourne, July 3. It is now doubtful whether the platelayer who*e body was found at Glen roan -was murdered by Nel Kelly a* supposed.
