The Afghan War. Calcutta, July 2.

Authentic intelligence has been received that Yakoob Kean, Governor of Herat, who, for some time past, has been supposed to be making warlike preparations to wrest Kandahar from Shere Ali, the the newly-appointed ruler of that province, has now actually left Herat and marched southwards, with a considerable force to Herrap, a place about 250 miles from the city of Kandahar. In consequence of thia information a British column has been despatched from Kandahar to Girishk, on the road to Perrah, to support Ali Mahomed, who commands the Kandahar tribes, and is preparing to resist the advance of Yakoob Khan.
