A MEDICAL MAN CHARGED WITH MANS LA UGHTER. [BY TELEGRAPH, PRESS ASSOCIATION .] Invercargill,Yesterday.

An inquest vrna commenced at Winton on Friday, and terminated on Saturday, touching 1 the death of the woman Cameron, the wife of a laborer ab Winton. The evidence show** that on Monday last the deceased was taken in labour, and that on the evening of that day Dr Moffat was called in to attend upon her, and remained with her until Tuesday morning about two o'clock, by which time the svotnai: had re iched an exceedingly critical stage. The doctor iised every means to deliver her, and failed, At the hour named, ho threw up the case, baying he must have some rest. He carried out this resolve, and never went near the house again until the woman had been, .successfully delivered by Dr Harman, of luveroargill. A post morfon on the body of the unfortunate woman revealed the fact that the uterus was ruptured, and that death had resulted from this rupture. When the rupture occurred the medical witnesses could not say. The jury, after 3iear «q ranch evidence, returned a verdict of manslaughter against Dr Moffafc, on. the ground that Mrs Owneron's death had resulted from his gros^ neglect and uuskilfuluess.
