THE WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL AND ME SANDES.

TO THE EDITOR Sib, — Regarding a resolution passed by the Waipa County Council (or a portion of the Council) last week, I would like to explain to the public the facts of the case. The resolution stated that I had made an unfair entry to the Council chamber, and that the matter should be placed in the hands of the police. That I entered by the window is true. I had instructions from two Councillors to go to the county map for information, and I went. The ' Chairman had taken the key away the i day before, and I sent a messenger to his residence at Pukerimu for it, but found that he had gone on to Cambridge and taken the key. On this, after trying all the keys in Ohaupo and finding 1 none to fit, I entered by the window, getting the man in charge to help me to open it, and also putting him in first and asking him to stand by to tee that I took nothing. I did my work, closed the window, and came home, and the next thing I hear is that I am to be put in the hands of the police. I have waited patiently for eight days and am not yet deprived of my liberty. I cannot understand it. Either the report of the meeting must be wrong, or the majority who 1 voted for the resolution must be the veriest lot of idiots in the place to passsuch a resolstioii and then to do nothing. I have been told that I shall hear no more of the matter from them. Perhaps not, but I think they will hear more from their friend T. G. Sakdes.
