There is a sunshine of the mind, a happy temper of disposition, which far outweiirhs all oxternal advantages ; but this sunshine oi the mind the man of honor aud probity alone experiences. No br'be Can purchase it for the unjust ; no blick duvicop, no mean arts, can pluck it from the upright.
Death of Captain Boynton. — Paul Boynton has gone over to the majority ; at any rate that is the report which reaches us from the other side of the Atlantic. The performer with tho mysterious "rubber dress" has had a very strange career. Inured to hardship aud privation from his earliest days on the great lakes of his country, it required little persuasion to lead him to become the champion of the "life-saver." Next, perhaps, to our own wonder, Captain Webb, he was about the finest swimmer ever been ; he was a veritable otter of the human species. Besides his expertnesa as a swimmer, Boynton was also a dead shot and a splendid trapper of wild animals. He had been in many places, seen many things, and mixed with many men j but he had an unfortunate weak. I ness : he could never "put money in. big I purse " and keep it there.
