HAMILTON HIGHWAY BOARD.
A minting of the Board was held on "-'aturday. Present : Messrs. 8. .Sleele (cliairman), limit, liMgeciuubo, Itaiue-*, and Gribble. The minutes of the previous meeting were road and conliimud, and the outWeird correspondence was read nnd'appioved. Mr John. Knox wrote, pointing out that the ro<id to Dr Careys was in want of repair , and it was resolved to leave the matter in the hands of Mr G . Edgecumbe for arrangement. Mr. R...N. Buttle wrote, ashing that certain works be done on the swamp road at Huknhia. "Resolved to leave the matter in the hands of the Chairman. It was resolved — That .1 rate of 6d in the £ he bti uclc fot the ensuing }c.ii. Tenders were opened for works on the Hamilton- Whatawhuta road as follows: — No 1 section W. Lovett, £108 13s 9d; Mes3rn. B.and J.Colcman, £129 ss; Messrs. Livingstone and Booth, £93 4s ; Maunders <*nd Son, £79 10s ; accepted ; Mr J. Coates, £ 1 33 7s 6d. No. 2 section, Mr Lovett, £106 18s; Colemau Brothers, £143 2s; Livingstone and Booth, i'lol 18s 6d, accepted. Mr Coates £134 12s. No. 3 section, Mr Lovett, £390 6a 6d: Messrs Livingstone and Booth, £3.53 5s 2d ; Mr Coates, £391 14s 6d ; Messrs Coleman Brothers, £302 14s, accepted ; George Vowles, informal. The total cost of the accepted tenders is £487 12s 6d. The balance of the Government grant will be applied to other works. It was rebolved that Mr Gribble arrange for laying a set of pipes on the Narrows road, and that the pipes for the purpose, as also the set for the Whatawhata road, be obtained from Messrs. Vincent and Wright. After some other business of an unimportant nature had been dealt with the Board adjourned.
