THE LATE MRS RUNCIMAN.

Tun body of the late Mrs Runciman, relict to the Lite Mr Thomas Runciman, Drury, whose death, as observed in our obituary coin nm, of Thtir-diy, took pi ico the pvevi'itis evening, at Marsh Meadows, ne ir Hamilton, th» residence of her son, Captain James Runciman, was takf*n to ths Hamilton Junction Railway Station yesterday afternoon, and on to Drury by the mid-day train. After the procession reached the Railway Si'itiou the coffin was placed in a van, and the Rev Mr Evans, Presbytcri.in Minister, of Cambridge, offered a p ayer, impressing upon the company the need of preparation for death, and dismissed them with the Benediction. The funeral enrtujc was very largely attended, most of the leading settlers of the neighbourhood being present in carriages and on horseback. The principal stores, hotels, and places of business in Hamilton were closed while the funeral procession passed through the Borough. The body will be inteired this afternoon in the Drury Burial Ground. The limenW deceased lady w.is aged 81 years, and had been a resident in the Provincial District since the earliest days of the Colony. Verily of her it may be written th it she has seen her children's children growing up round about her, and has gained for herself a goodly heritage.
