In tho Hou&e to-ddy, in replying 1 to a question — The Government said that, pending* receipt of the report of tho Railway Committee, all expenditure on railways was limited to completing 1 cutting contracts, and finding work for unemployed. A large number of Government Bills "were read a second time without debate.
