MEETING OF LICENSED VICTUALLERS.

A meeting of the Licensed Victuallers of Hamilton was held yesterday afternoon at Pearce'a Commercial Hotel, to take fnto consideration the desirability of apmying fofi»'r<dudbionof the licensing lee. We are informed that the license fee paid in Ngaruawahia is only £20 ; at Alexandra, £20 ; at Cambridge, Te Awamutu, and Kihikihi, £30 ; while the fee in Hamilton is £40. Those present gave very good reasons for applying for a reduction, which, of course, the petition being not yet before the Licensing Commissioners we refrain from making public ; at the same time we may be allowed to express the hope that the Commissioners will recognise the cogency of the arguments when submitted in Court.
