COLONIAL NEWS. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] The Genie Expedition Explained. Sydney, May 29.
Tiie alarmist report with reference to the Genie is denied by the representative here of the Marquis De Ruys. He explains that the vessel merely conveys a colonising party to New Ireland, and' her cargo consists of machinery and tools. The alarm is probably due to the fact that there is a corps of 221 gendarmes on board.
