AUCKLAND, Last Night. A meeting of the North Auckland Cattle Board was held to-day. A letter wjs read from the Chairman of the South Auckland Cattle Board (Mr Every Maclean), in answer to a communication which he had received, stating that with reference to the proposed co-operation of the two Boards to prevent an influx of infected cattle, he would lay before this Board any measures which its North crn co-adjutor might think it necessary to draw up. After &ome discussion, it was agreed that the present aaraiigemeut for inspecting cattle and forwarding a certificate with each lot sent to the Waikato was satisfactory. , The Inspector (Mr F. Lewis) informed the Board ,that he liad visited Panmure this morning at the request of Mr Kay, and that he had witnessed the slaughter of a cow belonging to that gentleman upon the infected portion of the Messrs Ireland's premises A post mortem examination of the beast showed that i% had been suffering from pleuropneumonia. It was resolved to acquaint the South Auckland Cattle Board with •the fact, no indication of the disease having appeared in this infected place since the 1 2th of March last. Skilled Assistance. — It was determined to engage Mr Naden's services for a short time, provided his absence from the Waikato would not cause inconvenience to the South Auckland Cattle Board.
