Paetioulaes are just to hand of a shooking death by burning at Queen Charlotte's Sound. Mr Isaac Landell, of Yallerton Run, Tory Channel, left home accompanied by his two daughters. They proceeded in a boat to Oyster Bay, where they landed and were joined.by a ypung man. They commenced setting fire to the scrub, the two girls being a short time away. Landell called for the girls to come where he was. A strong wind was blowing at the time, and the scrub was burning fiercely. In response to the summons, the eldest daughter only, came. The other was caught in the flames before she could effect her escape, and was burnt to death. The father and the young man Flood seeing the danger the girl was in, rushed to her assistance, but when they reached her she was quite dead, the flesh having been blackened and hard. Gi'ejtt sympathy is felt for Landell in is painful bereavement.
