Auckland Cattle Market.— Mr Alfred >v Buckland's Weekly Report.— The Haymarket on ' JFriday was fully supplied with fodder, which sold at slighfy higher rates than have lately been -Obtained. Good quality brought from 4s to 6s , . the cwt.r maize 3s gd and 4s the bushel. For the ,hull calves of Messrs Reid there was less demand * than on the last occasion. They were in low con- ' dlHon, and brought from £3 10s to £5 5s each. [TiMedium draught horse stock sold freely, and were worth £18 to £32 each- At Watufcu, on Saturday, less than, the usual muster of stock u were yarded, but at tukekohe there was a full i'lttarftet of principally young cattle, the whole of which found ready buyers, but prices were lower r 4Juft a n»onth sincer-about iws each. Wcllfattcd young sheep, 2^6 to 3d the lb.; young ewes brought us to 12s; wethers 13s to 18s; aged ewes from *« 6d each. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report.— Horses— There has been a tolerable supply, and good demand. Considerably over an average number were entered for disposal by auction. Competition was good throughout the sale, and lots were cleared at prices, as a rule, satisfactory to vendors, although a concession had to be - made with regard to some animals. We quote : —Hacks, from £6 to £13 15s; light harness horses, from £14 10s to £19 ; medium draught, £29 to £30. Cattle — She supply has been moderate, and for dairy and store stock the demand has been steady, and fat beasts 'advanced in value from 10s to £1 per head. (At the Haymarket, on Tuesday, there was a 'tolerable muster of dairy stock, a small one of ! stores, and an adequate one of fat beasts. At Papakura, in consequence of the heavy rain, less 'than the usual number were yarded, but the , demand was good, and fully Newmarket rates ' ruled. We quote : — Calves, from Li xos to L 2 ; 6s ; yearlings, from L 2 12s 6d to L 3 2s 6d ; dry cows, from L 3 17s 6d to L 4 ss ; steers, L<; ss ; dairy cows, from L8 5s to Lio 10s ; beef, from 23s to 26s per ioolbs Sheep — The supply has been good, and there has been corresponding demand ; and, notwithstanding that the Newmarket Yards were filled, competition did not flag throughout the sale, and there was an observable advance in value. Lambs were in adequate numbers, but none of good description offered, and the' highest price given was 12s. Pigs were yarded in in- [ creased numbers, and were well competed for at from 2£d to 3d per lb. live weight.
