LAST NIGHT'S NEWS. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
H.M.S. Atalanta. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Commodore Wilson, of H.M.S. Wolverene, has received a cable message intimating that the Atalanta has arrived safe at her destination. No particulars are given of the cause of the delay. Sir George Grey arrives here on Wednesday, and gives an address in the Choral on Thursday evening.
(united pbess association.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. It is understood that His Excellency will leave for Napier early next week for a week's shooting, The Hon. F. Whitaker arrived in the Hineinoa this morning.
CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Sir George Grey is expected to be in Christchurch the week after next. A telegram has been received from him saying that he will, if well enough, leave for the South during the next week.
