Store cattle, of a good class, were in full numbers. For calves good prices ruled; they brought from 46s to 52s each; but well-bred .steers, trom two to three years old, realised but £4 is** to £5 12s 6d, and coarse-bred three-year-old steers, £i 15s. Fat cattle in less numbers than for several months; under ioo head yarded, and prices rallied, — for best steers, about 20s each; prices for best Auckland fatted, were from 24s to 265; and for ship borne, 22s the ioolbs. Sheep were in fully average numbers, but in good de--mand, and better worth from 2S to 3s -per head. They ranged from 2*d for inferior, to 3d per lb. jfor best quality. Pigs were abundant, but maintained late values. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report.— Horses — The races have caused considerable inlerruptton to business," and scarcely an average number have changed hands. The alteration of stile day had, as usual, a damaging effect on the Auction sales. An average number were sub- ' t kitted at the Durham Yards on Saturday, but the bidding was slow. CattleThere has been an increased supply ot dairy cows, but it has been short ot rcqurcments. and but a limited number of stores offered. Fat beasts at Newmarket, on Tuesday, were yarded in -adequate numbers, and sold at about last week's quotations, although prices fluctuated considerably, 25s per ioolbs. being given for top sorts, while ship-borne barely reached 225. Sheep— The Newmarket yards were well filled on Tuesday, and last wcckJs prices were sustained, and for a few lots a shade in advance was given. Mutton, from is 8d to is iod per 81bs. Lambs were in fair numbers, and sold at from <s to 14s. Pigs were yarded in increased numbers, but were still much short of requirements. Good porkers sold at 3d per lb. live weight, some obtaining even a shade higher value.
