CORRESPONDENCE. [Our correspondence columns arc impartially open to all, but we do not in any way identify ourselves with opinions expressed therein.]
THE POLICE. TO THE EDITOR. Siß, — Could you kindly give me the date of the Government Gazette in which a notification appears that our local constable has been transferred from his duties of constable to that of a "Public Rabbit Killer." If so, we, the residents, intend to appeal to Government to have him reinstated in his former duties, as there are many sufferers from paltry thefts, &c, perpetrated in this Township without the remotest chance of seeing them traced out. — I am, &c, Verbum Sap. .Alexandra, sth April, 1880.
