PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

THE Defaulter's List and Burgess List for the year Ist June 1880 to 31st May, 1881, are now open for inspection at this office. All objections to the Burgess List must be made in writing in conformity with Clause 45 of I* The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," in the form of the 6th Schedule (or as near as may be to be understood), and delivered at this office on or before the 15th day of April, 1880. Hamilton, 31st March, 1880. I AM directed to call attention to section 41 of the Diseased Cattle Act, 1871 :— 41. Any Police Constable may proceed as follows : — (1.) He may apprehend any person found committing an offence against this Act with respect to infected places and he shall take any person so apprehended as soon as conveniently may be before a Justice of the Peace to be examined and dealt with according to law and a person so apprehended shall not be detained in custody by any Constable without the order of a Justice longer than is necessary for bringing him before a Justice or than twenty-four hoursatlonge»t. (2.) He may require that any cattle animals or thing moved out of an infected place in contravention of this Act be forthwith taken back within the limits of that place and may enforce and execute such requisition.
