THE MAYORAL ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — The thanks of the burgesses and residents generally are due to you for your independent straightforward subleader of Saturday last, on the election of Dr. Beale as Mayor of Hamilton. The telegram sent by the Herald's correspondent was a sneaky production, worthy of the sender, whose identity is very well recognised in Hamilton. It is a pity we cannot, or will not, wash our dirty linen at home. — I am, &c, Another Burgess.
