Waikato Times Office, Friday Evening. J. S. Buckland reports— On Thursday last, at Onaupo live stock sale, 179 head of cattle were yarded, 21 head only were reserved and pa^ed, and 158 head sold at good prices— They were principally calves and young: cattle, and the prices realised were, from six to ten months old calve* (mixed sexed), 36s to 475. ! yearling, to two year old steers, £3 to £$ ; coarse bred, eighteen months to two year old heifers, £i to &$ 12s 6d.

Cows sold at higher values than of late, and brought £3 15s to £5; well-fatted small sided steers, £6 to £7, and fat heifers £6 each Sheep were in demand and sold well, 156 were penned and all sold : fat ewes brought 9s Qd and 10s 3d ; fat lambs, 9s ; mcrinocs and store ewes, ss ; store lambs, 5s 6d each. Twelve horses were entered and five sold: good medium draught, £22; light hacks, £5 ; old screws, 20s to 60s each. Auckland Cattle Markkt. — Mr Alfred Buckland's Weekly Report. — On Friday last, fodder sold freely ; good hay ranged from 3s 3d to 5s 6d the cwt.; chaff, L 3 7s 6d the ton ; oats, is lod to 2s the bushel ; damaged flour, L 6 2s the ton. No heavy draught offered; light harness brought from Ll5 to L2l 10s. There is an enqury for good farm and omnibus horses. Hacks, from L 6 to Lio 10s. At the hide and skin sale, on Thursday, prices were fully sustained. Best skins brought 3s 4d to 4s gd each ; inferior, from gd and upwards ; wool, in grease, 8d ; lambswool, 7{d ; calf skins, 2sd ; hides, 3M to 4d the lb. At Remuera, consequent on the inclement weather, stock of all kinds were in less than average supply. The rain occasioned store cattle to be in better inquiry. Well-fatted cattle were better worth, ana ranged from 26s to 295 ; but cows and medium qnality steers were not above 24s the ioolbs. Good sheep were from 2s to 3s per head better worth, and lambs shared in the advance. Store merinos from 3s 6d to 6s each. Pigs in full numbers, with a steady demand at prices satisfactory to the seller. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report. — Horses. — There has been a tolerable amount of activity, and prices have not varied much as compared, with the previous week. At the Durham Yards, on Friday, good draught stock were poorly represented, but there was a large muster of useful colts. A medium lot of hacks were entered and disposed of. We quote light harness horses from Ll3 5s to LlB 17s 6d : hacks, from Ls to Ll3 2s 6d; draught gelding, L3O; colts and fillies, Ll6 10s to L 23. Cattle.— The supply has been food, and the demand steady. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, an increased number of dairy cows were yarded, and met steady com* petition. Scarcely an average number of stores were brought forward, but of this description there was a large muster at Pukekohe on Wednesday, notwithstanding a heavy downpour of rain prevailed. Prices scarcely reached the expectation of vendors. The majority disposed of were young cattle. There was a decided upward tendency in the price of fat beasts as compared with the previous week, although expectations of vendors in some instances could not be reached. We quote btef from 22s to 27s 6d per ioolbs.; dairy cows, from L^ 15s to Lio 10s ; calves, 26s to L 2 12s 6d ; yearlings, from L 2 ws to L 3 ss ; two-year-old heifers, L 3 10 to L 4 $s ; steers, L 4 7s 6d. Sheep— There was a very go«d muster at Newmarket, and competition was good throughout, the result being a slight advance in price, is gd per 81bs. having been given. Lambs were plentiful, and sold at from 8s to 13s 3d. Pigs scarce, and prices were in favour of vendors.
