CRICKET MA TCH, NGAR UA WAHIA-

NGABtTAWAHIA C.C. Y. WHATAWHATA C.C. A very good gajue of cricket was played here on Saturday, between Whatavvhata and Ngaruawahia Cricket ( 'lubs, which was won easily by the Litter Club. Although the ground had been well watered the night before it was very Hard, and not at all good for fielding 1 , as will be seen by the number of byes th it were got on both sidis. The Ng.iruawahians saved a good many byes in the, second innings by patting Houmeli behind the wicket, who seemed to be the r ighfc man in the right place, rarely letting a ball pass him "toper made a good stand for Ngamawahia in the first innings, carrying his bat for 29 ; in the second innings he gave a f.hance to Lang at point, who made the best cato.h of the day. At half-past 6 the bell rang for refreshment, which was provided by host Simmelhag, of the Royal Mail, in his usual excellent Style. After full justice had been done to the eatables the table wa* cleared, and the usual cricketing toasts drank.
