AUSTRALIAN MEAT IN LONDON.
London, February 7. One hundred and fifty colonists and others lunched on Board the >trathleven yesterday; all were gratified at the success of the enterprise. The Melbourne mutton and beef was sold at Smithfield to-day. The market was low : the first sixty faheep brought 6d per lb., and the remainder s£. lha beef fetched a fraction over sd. It is pronounced more saleable, and Id over the Ameiican. This week mutton is aid leas. The English meat salesmen and leading butchaers are highly pleased with the meat. It was equal to anything they had seen, The salesmen could take 10,000 sheep weekly.
