WELLINGTON RACES. [BY TELEGRAPH, UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Yesterday.
The races were attended by about 4000 people. It was glorious weather, the heat being tempered by a light northerly breeze. The course was in capital cendition. The time was very fast. The Governor and Lady Robinsou and party arrived at half -past 12, being received by Sir W. Jfitzherbert, President of the Club. Two totalisators were conspicious in the paddock. People wero very shy at first, but as soon as they began to understand the principle, patronised them freely. The odds averaged fully 50 per cent, longer odds than offered Dy the bookmakers. The following are the results of the leading events.
