PUBLIC SALE OF WASTE LANDS.

Taa following is the detailed report of the sale of waste lands referred to in our telegraphic columns of Tuesday vhich was held at the Waste Lands Office ou the 19th inst. : — There was a good attendance of buyers, but the prices realised were only in a few instances above the upset prico. The lots in the parish of Puniu, although the upset price was comparatively high were most in demand, and a considerable quantity were disposed of. The following are the sales effected : —

Waikato District. Parish of Pukete.— Lot, 267, 2-ia, bought at the upset price, £24, by Mr Salmon. wenfcy-nine other lots, averaging about 50 acres each, found no purchasers at the upset price, £1 per acre. Parish of Te Rapa.— Lut 44a, 24a 2r 18p, bought by Mr Steele at the upset price, £38 10s; lot 78, 112 a 3a, bought by Mr Martin at the upset price, £112 15s.

Parish of Tuhikaramea.— Lot 53, 50a, bought by Mr Jac c at the upset price, £50; lot 55, 54a 3r Bp, bought by Mr Jack at the upset price, Jt'ss ; lot 193*, 30a, bought by Mr Haddock at the upset price, £30. Fifteen othor lots, varying from 52 to 20 acres, were passed. Parish of Ngaroto. — Lot 339, 50a, upset price £100, bought by Mr McLaren; lot 182, 34a lr, and lot 361, 50a, were passed at the upset price, £1 per acre. Parish of Horotiu. - Seven lots, varying from 50 to 170 acres, were offered at the upset price of £1 per acre, but they were all passed.

Parish of Mangapiko.— Five lots in this parish, each about 50 acres in extent, at the upset price of £1 an acre, did not elicit a bid, and they were passed. Parish of Puniu. -Lot 28, 60a, bought by Mr Ramsay at the upset price, £1,50 ; lot 41, 50a, bought by Mr Cowan at the upset price, £75 ; lot 70, 50a, upset price £75 ; lot 48, 50a 2r, upset price £76 ; lot 49, 50a, upset price £75 ; and lot 50, 50a, upset price £75, were all bought at the upset price by Mr Martin ; lot 74, 38a 2r, was bought by Mr Corboy, at the upset price, £77 ; lot 214, 50a, was bought by Mr Johns, at the upset price, £50 ; lot 228, 89a, upset price £89, was bought by Mr Thompson, at £265 ; lot 255, 51a, was bought by Mr Burke at the upset price, £76 10s ; iots262 and 263. 50a, upset price £75, was bought by Mr Bennett, at £136. The total proceeds of the sale are £1540
