A collision occurred between the police and the people owing to an election procession at Connemara. Stones were resorted to, and sixty constables were called out and fired amongst the crowd and charged them with bayonets, wounding several severely. Many arrests wore made.
The Government have grave anxiety in consequence of the night of Abdull Rahman from Tasken to Balkh with the connivance of the Russians who supplied him with money. The matter ia regarded I as of serious importanoe.
The Khan of Morv has sent an embassy to Calcutta asking for mediation and assistance.

There has been an extensive discoveiy of Nihilism in the ranks of the Russian army, and the penalties for Nihilists in the army reserve has been consequently largely increased.
The Government is summonsing Land Tax defaulter. It was John Smith and not the Governor who offered Mr Walters £500 foi Libeller. Supreme Court.— Hall, charged with forging a telegram with intent to defraude, was found not guilty and discharged. Mary and Ann Devin were sentenced to six months for passing counterfeit coin.
