FRANKTON PIGEON MATCH.

The Handicap Pigeon Matoh, got up by Mr L. R. James, which has been creating some little sensation recently among the sporting community, came off yesterday afternoon in a paddock near the Railway Hotel. There was a goodly number of spectators present, and several ladies. The weather, still and cloudy, was excellent foi shooting. But the birds were neither good nor plentiful, being only enough for five shots each. Many of them were quite young, not strong upon the wing and very difficult to rise. The shooting as the scores show were excellent. They were as follows ; —

Mr K. Hill and Mr Isaac Gwynne having tied shot off for first and second place, Mv Gwynne killing with first barrel and Mr Hill missing. Messrs. Grimes and Dawson then shot off for third place, Mr Grhnos winning.
