William Willets, for larceny at the Thames was sentenced to nine months' impiisonment ; Walter Wood, stealing gum and hhooiing hordes at Northern Wairon, 18 month -.' imprisonment ; Stephen Horne, stabbing hia wifo and a man n lined X lymond, 2i months' imj ri^onment ; John t oomer, charged with btealing tobacco at Parnell, was discharged; Joseph Alexander iic^liud \MlliamB, bieaking- into the -hop of Mr I'rooks, bootmaker, and htealing money from the till, pleaded guilty, aud, on account of hia &0., was di^>oharged without t^enteuce, upon finding two sureties of £50 each to appear whenever called upon by tho Court. True bills were returned against Hall, for forging and uttering ; Pemberton, embezzlement ; and others.
Fourteen \rmed Con.>tabulavy, in command of Captain Capell, left here thi3 morning 1 en route to ambriclge, whence they will pioceed at once to join the working p irty it present engaged in constructing the Taupo road.
