December 27. For the last fortnight we have had rain almost every day, and luiy making is impossible. One or two of the sottlevs who began early have j lost; all they have cut, as it has been lying on. the ground ever since, and it will be a sezious Joss to some. Many of the potato crops are looking well and some but even rntdling, but as a great many more have beea planted than any previous year there will be plenty.
