Waikato Times Office, Friday Evening, AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. MB A. BUCKLAND'S WEEKLY BEPOBT. On Friday last, the steeplechase horse Mulcahy, brought £-'5; farm -homes, 25 cwt. trial, £27 to £34 each. There were a largo number, of ontries, and tho greater portion sold. At tho Haymarket, at Tuesday's sale, hides were m larger number than usual, and brought, for good sound hides 3$ to 3M: damaged hides, from 2d the lb. Sheepskins were plentiful, and brought from f ls ad to 3s M', pelts, from fld ; lambskins, 7d each ; wool, m bugs, from 5d to 7d. At Remuera, on Thursday, not many store cattle were yarded those were freely competed for at full values. Fat cattle m large number (150 head yarded), generally of moderate size, and well fatted. Prices were steady throughout the market. Ship-borne, 25s ; good quality provincial, 288 to 31s the lOOlbs. tfut sheep were m less than average number, and slightly better worth — wethers, 2{d the lb. Lambs were m usual supply, £nd Is to 2s per head better worth than last week. At Drury, on Wednesday, satisfactory prices were obtained by the sellers. MESSB3 IIUNTEB AND NOLAN'S WEEKLY. . bei'OHT. Horses. — An average number were sub- . mitted by auction, well competed for, and prices were satisfactory to vendors. We quote:— Hacks, from £5 to £14; light harness horses, from £1 1 to £19 ss ; medium draught, £35 15s. Cattle.— There ., has been a steady demand and good sup ply. At Newmarket on Thursday, there was a good muster of store and fafc beasts ; but dairy cattle were m short supply, and of inferior description. Sotres were m steady demand, but prices had no upward tendenoy, except it might be for a few pens of good grown steers. There was a large muster of fat beasts ; price* ranged from 26s to 30s per lOOlbs. There waa no noteworthy alteration m the value of other descriptions. Sheep were very plentiful, and prices receded a little. Store wethers were from 7s 6d to 9s 6d : fat sheep, from Is 4d to Is 9d por Blbs. Lambs were m moderate supply, and sold at from 6s, 5d to /12s. WOOL SALE. The third of Mr Buckland's wool sales of the season took place yesterday, and the number of bales catalogued was 321, an increase over tho last sale. Out of these seven only were passed, not fetching the figure which the owner wanted. The bidding was dull on the whole, though tho price for washed wool was from £d to Id per lb, higher than at lasfc sale. On unwashed the price was -Jd, lower.
