Grey moved an amendment to the adoption of this reoommendation, y That a respfc'fnl I address be presented to His Excellency, stating reasons for declining to adopt recommendation or to proceed with consideration of same on the ground that the proposals were not brought down earlier." • The Premier said this was a peg on which to hang a motion of want of coofidence m <he present Government. He would not detain the House now, but would ask hon. members at the proper time to reject the proposals.
