CAMBRIDGE JOCKEY CLUB.
A meeting of the Stewards of the Cambridge Jockey 01 ab was held, at Cambridge last Saturday afternoon to consider the desirability of holding their summer meeting on the 7th January, instead of the 15th., in consequence of the Waikato Turf Club altering their meeting" from Febraary to January Bth and 9th. After considerable discussion, Mr Robert Fergusson proposed, and Mr John A. Douglas seconded, " That the Cambridge Jockey Club Summer Meeting" be held on the date originally fixed, viz. January 15tb, 1880." This resolution was carried unanimously. The following resolution was also proposed by Mr J. Ai Douglas, seconded by Mr H. W. Tinne and carried unanimously, " Seeing that the Waikato Turf Club have gone out of their way to clash with the Summer Meeting of the Cambridge Jockey Club, which had been duly advertised in Auckland and Waikato papers of December sth., that those gentlemen present who are members of the Waikato Turf Club send in their resignation to that Clnb forthwith."
