BREAKING-UP AT MRS ROSSWATTS' SCHOOL.
The Michaelmas term at The Lodge, Hamilton, closed on Thursday, December llth, with the distribution of prizes, which we given both for steadiness and progress during the term, and for efficiency as shown by the examination, which Listed for five days, and was conducted on the public school system ; some of the papers being stt by friends outside the school. The parents and friends of tho pupils assembled m the schoolroom io see the prizes distributed by the Rev. William Calder, who made tho statement as to marks and places of merit, and spoke of the desirability of encouraging young people to be studious and persevering with their holiday tasks, which make school work less arduous when they resume it, and to be faithfully back m their places on the day, and at the hour announced. A t the close of the distribution, Miss Wallnutt, on behalf of her fellowpupils, presented Mrs Eoss- Watts with, a handsome whatnot, as some slight token of the esteem m which they held her.
